Chapter OneArrival
Portrait of Akinmade Akinrinmade

Helping people make better strategic decisions.

Not every challenge needs a bigger team, more technology or another framework. Sometimes it needs clearer thinking.

I work with founders, growing businesses and organisations to bring structure to complex decisions — through product leadership, strategic advisory, creative direction and practical experience.

Chapter 02

Good products are rarely built by accident. Strong organisations rarely become resilient by chance.

A note from
the practice.

Behind both are better decisions, thoughtful leadership and systems designed with intention. That belief has shaped my work across government, higher education, healthcare, telecommunications, startups and venture building.

Chapter 03

Four ways to think through what comes next.

Every engagement is shaped around the decisions in front of you. Below are the recurring ways founders, executives and cultural leaders bring me into the room.

I

Way I

Strategic Advisory

When the next decision carries real consequences, an experienced perspective can make the difference. I help founders, business leaders and organisations clarify direction, evaluate opportunities and move forward with greater confidence.

II

Way II

Fractional Product Leadership

Some organisations need executive product leadership without hiring a full-time Chief Product Officer. I provide strategic guidance, product governance and leadership support for teams navigating growth, transformation or product complexity.

III

Way III

Creative Direction

Ideas deserve clarity. I help businesses shape stronger brands, product narratives and customer experiences through strategic creative direction grounded in design thinking and business outcomes.

IV

Way IV

Speaking & Executive Workshops

I speak and facilitate conversations around product leadership, innovation, AI readiness, organisational capability and digital transformation — helping teams develop practical ways of thinking about modern challenges.

Queen's University

Reimagining leadership education through immersive simulation.

Working with Queen's University, I led the product strategy and delivery of a digital leadership simulation that allows learners to experience the realities of leading organisations under uncertainty. The project brought together product thinking, experiential learning and systems design to create a practical environment where decisions — not theory — drive learning.

Chapter 06

Ideas worth building on.

Consulting creates conversations. Writing creates ideas that outlive them. My writing explores the systems beneath leadership, products and organisations — helping readers think more clearly about how meaningful work is created.

Why Good Teams Build Bad Products.

The first volume of the Product Leadership Trilogy explores why capable teams — using familiar tools and good intentions — still build products that fail to realise their potential. Rather than focusing on tactics, it examines the structural conditions that shape product success long before delivery begins.

Beyond product leadership

Silent Death.

A separate body of work exploring men's mental health, emotional silence and identity — particularly within Black communities. Blending personal reflection, cultural insight and practical tools, it seeks to encourage healthier conversations and challenge the silence that too often surrounds men's wellbeing.

Chapter 07

A different path to product leadership.

A note on
the story.

My career began in design. That foundation taught me to see problems through the lens of people, systems and experience before technology.

Over time my work expanded into product leadership, digital transformation and venture building — but the central question has remained the same: how do we create better outcomes by making better decisions?

Today I advise founders, businesses and organisations while building original frameworks, writing books and contributing to conversations about product leadership, organisational capability and innovation.
